The Assistant CAO provides support to the Chief Administrative Officer in the direction, planning, coordination and control of all municipal operations in accordance with objectives, policies, bylaws, and plans approved by County Council. Reporting directly to the CAO, you will be responsible for the leadership of the senior management team and direct leadership of the Human Resources and Community Services functions. To be successful in this position, you will hold a relevant post-secondary degree or diploma, 

have earned a NACLAA certification, and have a minimum of 5 to 7 years related experience in a leadership role in local government. You will have experience working with Council, Administration, and external agencies. Experience in strategic planning, finance, organizational development and working with people are essential to your success. Change management expertise is important in this transformational position.

A&B is immediately seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator with experience in job costing, cost management, cost codes, purchasing cycle (PO, receipt of goods, invoice receipt), purchasing approval workflows, vendor management, federal and provincial sales tax, holdbacks, and payment processing. 

Other responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate the flow of information including distributing regular and electronic incoming mail. 
  • Process and code incoming accounts payable invoices. 
  • Communicate with field and office staff to obtain invoice approval. 
  • Invoice data entry, and automated workflow routing in accounting system. 
  • Set up and maintain computerized and manual information filing systems. 
  • Organize and rename PDF documents. 
  • Balance and process weekly EFT payments. 
  • Reconcile vendor statements and correspond with vendors on inquiries. 
  • Fill in as coverage for various roles as required. 

Requirements 

  • Post-Secondary Diploma and/or 1-3 years of experience in an office environment. 
  • Experience with computerized accounting software and ERP program would be considered an asset. 
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including SharePoint. 
  • Knowledge of Goods and Services Tax, Provincial Sales Tax and WCB. 
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Detail oriented and able to work independently in an open office environment.
